Without Water

Here we go again. We can't use any water in our house. Its so frustrating! We have a Sewage Lift Pump, all the water in our house drains to a pump which, when it gets full, pumps to a Septic tank, well the pump is out AGAIN! You don't know how much you miss or need running water until its gone. We noticed the problem last night around 5:15pm or so. It all of a sudden starting smelling, like rotten eggs (sorry, I know that's graphic). We ran some water to see if we could hear the pump kick on, but never did, so Ryan went down to the crawl space and notice that it wasn't pumping and that it had overflowed. Why we always have this problem at night, I do not know. I called several plumbers and they either don't work on them at night or they were going to cost us an arm and leg just to come out and look at it, not sure if they would be able to fix it. We weighed all our options and decided to wait until morning to have it fixed. I feel so dirty. I have a load of wash, sitting in water in the washing machine, I have a sink of dirty dish water, Ryan had to take a bath today, so we have a tub of bath water, we had to brush our teeth outside, and well, we won't talk about the toilet situation. ITS SO GROSS! I still feel fortunate that we have a house and I know it could be far worse. So I'm here waiting until the plumber can get here sometime this afternoon. I hope no one decides to "pop in" to see me today. I was able to go over to a friends house this morning and take a shower over there. Times like this, make you thankful for every little thing God blesses you with, even a simple thing like running water.

Day at the Park

The weather has been beautiful yesterday and today. They are calling for storms today, but not until later, so I thought I would try to take Adriana to the park. We have a pretty crappy park here in Ozark, but I didn't feel like driving 15 minutes to another one, especially since it looked like it could start raining at any moment. We ended up having a fairly decent time. There was no one there, so that's even better. We went down slides, swung and went on a walk. The park is right along the Finley River, so we threw rocks in the water and about got attacked by an angry goose. (For all you PETA people out there, we didn't throw the rocks anywhere near the goose, I just think he was having a bad day). All in all, it was a good time. Adriana was anxious to get out of the house. When were in the car driving out of the park, I hear the whoosh sound from the back and turn around and poor Adriana's lid from her juice cup came off and all her juice (a full cup of juice, Imight add) spilt everywhere. I think she was in shock, because she just sat there with her lid still in her mouth. I hate those stupid "Take and Toss" sippy cups, and will probably throw them all away. This isn't the first time the lid has just come off of them. Nevertheless, it was funny to see her just sitting there with the lid in her mouth until I pulled over and took it out of her mouth, while cleaning her up.
Here are some pics from today. It was very windy today, that is why she has a coat on, but it was still nice, in the 60's.

Cat Fight Referee

Today Zoe had a rough day. Today was gorgeous outside and she has been dying to go outside. We have a chain link fence so we let her out in our backyard. Every once and a while a stray cat will come along, but never gets too close and Zoe normally gets all worked up and scares it away. Anyway, I was sitting at the computer and hear a cat fight, literally. I looked outside and see Zoe going round and round with a stray cat in our backyard. They were literally going head over head fighting. It was like a cartoon with a dust cloud coming up around them as they roll around. It was very vicious sounding to say the least. I didn't want to get in the middle of it so I did my best trying to break them up by yelling at them. They fought for a few seconds later and then the stray jumped the fence and left Zoe in her dust. Zoe was pretty wound up after that. I got her inside and noticed that she had a cut right above her eye. She was too upset still for me to get too close, but after she cooled off I notice that she had another cut above her other eye. She seems pretty down and out tonight. I think it really hurt her. She has been limping around and keeping to herself. I feel sorry for her. Tonight I was sitting on the couch and she finally jumped in my lap and then comes Adriana and pulls her ear as hard as she could. Today was not a good day to be a cat in the Naylor household.
(Note: Since Zoe is an indoor cat, she doesn't have any claws, so she was pretty helpless in the fight)

Sitting Here

I'm sitting here trying to plan out my day. Ryan took Adriana to school for me this morning, probably so I could go to Zumba, but since I didn't sleep well last night, I don't feel like dancing all over the place. I need to go to Sams, Wal-mart, and possibly the mall. I would like to scrapbook while I have a few extra quite hours, but I don't think I have the time to get set up and going. So I sit here still trying to plan out my day.
I will say, that since I have started Zumba, I am feeling better about myself. I feel like I'm actually getting some activity in my bones, instead of sitting on the couch. I have also cut out sodas. I still drink sweet tea, but I figure that probably has less calories than soda. I have had a few people tell me that I look like I'm losing some weight, but I can't really tell. Our battery in our scale is out, so I haven't been able to measure my progress. Maybe I'll get a battery at Wal-mart too.
Well, that's about all the excitement that's going on in our household. Have a good Wednesday!

A Fun Weekend

Jim, Susan, Me and Ryan getting ready to go out
on the town. (Okay, a resturant, Walmart and a
movie).

We felt like we were getting ready for prom, getting
our pictures taken before we left.

I have had a great weekend. Starting Thursday, which was Adriana's Birthday, me and my mom took Adriana to a play date I had with my MOPS group to a gymnastics place where she got to run and play and jump on trampolines. Needless to say, she had a blast! My parents took her for the rest of the day, because my best friend, Susan and her husband came into town to spend the weekend with us. We didn't do much, but we had fun just hanging out together. Friday night we went to see my parents new house and then out bowling. My brother was able to join us for a game of bowling, it was so much fun! Saturday was filled with lots of shopping. It was my birthday, and I couldn't think of anything greater than spending the day with my best friend and shopping for 7 hours! Our husbands were just glad they didn't have to be drug around with us while we went. Saturday night my parents so graciously babysat (again) for us so we could go out to dinner and a movie. We ate Mexican and watched "Paul Blart: Mall Cop". We were out late and didn't get home until close to midnight. Today, after church, some girls from our Sunday School class got together for a "craft" day. I got a chance to scrapbook, which I haven't gotten to do in almost a year, it was so much fun!
I am so fortunate to have a great husband, daughter, parents, and friends. I had the a great Birthday weekend.

Birthday Girl

Today is Adriana's 2nd birthday! I can't believe she is 2 already. I have always known time goes by so fast, but you really notice it when you have a child. We love our little girl, and feel so blessed to have call her our own (well, most days!). Happy Birthday Adriana, you are our world!

Adriana's Birthday Party

I can't believe it has come and gone already. All this planning, for Adriana's Birthday party, and before you know it, its over. We had a good time though. We were so excited that Ryan's family could make the LONG journey from Alabama to come to her party. Adriana didn't know what to think about it all. She had fun with all her cousins and little friends here to play with. When it was time to open the gifts, she was very neat and tidy with the whole process. She would tare off one piece at a time and throw each piece away each time. It was a lengthy process to say the least. All the other kids there were dying to help her just tare into them. All in all, it was a good time.

Singing Happy Birthday to Adriana, She just looked
at us like we were crazy.

Enjoying her cake.

Adriana very carefully opening her gifts.

Jed, a guest at the party.

Ryan having a good time.

Sorry this picture is turned wrong.
This is the stool that Ryan's family made
from scratch for Adriana to match her room.
She loves this stool and totes around everywhere.
A gift from the heart is better than anything money
can buy.

For her birthday cake, I ended up making a big cupcake. I wasn't sure how it was going to turn out, but I must say, it turned out better than I thought. Here are some pictures of her big cupcake.

Before

After

After the party we let the kids (Adriana and her cousins, Jack and Riley) take naps, and then we took them to Jump Mania. Its an indoor inflatable park. They had a blast! By the time we ate dinner and got there, they didn't have a whole lot of time to play, but they still were able to burn about an hours worth of energy off. We had a great time with them here, even though it was a short trip for them. We look forward to seeing Ryan's family again soon, hopefully.

A Quick Rant

I'm so irritated at our health insurance at the moment. Back in January, we had to take Adriana into Urgent Care because she had been up all night screaming. Ended up she had a double ear infection, so its a good thing we took her, but we are STILL getting bills for her visit. Had I taken her in less than 24 hours before, to see her actual doctor, we would have only had to pay $30 for the visit. Since we had to take her to Urgent Care, her visit, thus far, has cost us over $120! What good is insurance?! I'm so irritated right now. If I pay them monthly for her insurance, then they should still just charge us a $30 co-pay. I mean get real, we saw the doctor for a whopping 5-10 minutes and had to wait close to 2 hours, these people should be paying us!

A Scary Job

I was on the overpass here in Ozark and they are working on expanding it. There is always construction trucks and guys out there during the day pouring concrete, painting lines, you know, the usual construction stuff. Today, I was on the overpass and there were about 7 workers, each using a jack hammer on the overpass, right above highway 65. They were all tethered by a bungee cord, I guess just in case they jack hammer too much and fall through. I don't know what is more scary, their job, knowing that at any moment they might fall through the cracks (literally) or me stopped at a light on the overpass right next to them, while they jack hammer out the floor that I'm sitting on.

Barack Obama is everywhere

I did think of one thing I was wanting to write about. I'm sorry if this is going to offend anyone, its not intended to be mean towards the president, but I'm more or less in shock.
I cannot believe how much Obama stuff is out there. Everywhere you look, there is something with Obama's face on it. I don't think any other president has ever gotten so many souvenir type items made after them. The other day I was in JoAnn fabrics, and came across fleece material with, non-other than, Barack Obama! I couldn't believe my eyes! I mean, who is going to make a nice warm fleece blanket with his big mug on it, and cuddle up on the couch and watch a movie?! I mean, for real! This is insane. He is more like a celebrity than the President of the US. His face is on plates, mugs, shirts, and who knows what else, in the words of John Stossel from 20/20, "give me a break!"
I'm sitting here in the peace and quite (at least for the moment). It is a great day outside! I actually have my windows open, for February, that's something kind of cool. Tonight severe storms are suppose to roll through, but for the time being, I'm enjoying the sunshine and fresh breeze.
I normally think of things to write on my blog at the most inconvenient times. I'll have my head full of prize winning writings that I'm going to enlighten you all on, but then when the time comes for me to actually write it, I draw a blank. That's why I haven't been writing as much lately. Its like I have a permanent brain freeze.
We do have a busy and exciting week coming up. We are celebrating Adriana's birthday on Saturday. Its going to be so fun and it will be good to see Ryan's family from Alabama too. Adriana is looking forward to her cousins, Jack and Riley being here and of course, her PopPop and Heehee. My mind is in a constant state of a "to do" list before everyone gets here, but once I get done with one thing, I have forgotten what else I was suppose to be doing. I guess I need to carry a pen and paper around.
Today, our Parents As Teachers lady came by. Adriana loves when she visits, she always brings fun and different things to play with. She told me today, though, that Adriana was behind in her speech. She should be putting 2-3 words together at a time, and she's not. I'm not that worried about it. I do notice that she talks the least amount in her class at school, but she'll come around. She's starting to babble a lot, so I think she's on the verge of talking our legs off.
Tomorrow she has a V-day party at her school. I need to make some desserts for her class and she needs to color on some valentines cards. I think it will be so cute watching them hand out valentines to each other.
Speaking of making treats for her class, I better get to it. I have a lot to do before this weekend, and this is just something else to add to my list.

Family Pictures

I'm sad to say, that we were "that" family last night at JCPenny's Portrait Studios. Or should I say, our daughter was "that" child that no one wants to be around and that is highly irritating to everyone else. I had this great idea to get family photos done, this is something we have never done. Adriana is at an age where she won't do what you want her to do, when you want to do it. Which, I know, she's 2 years old, but still. I was hoping that just this once she would act decent and smile. It was like a circus and we caused the people behind us, to get their pictures taken about 20 minutes late. I had one outfit change for her, and she was so busy being a little rowdy child, that she popped one of her buttons off her brand new jacket I had her wearing for her pictures. Needless to say, I was highly irritated by the time we left.
I wasn't really pleased with any of the pictures that did turn out. Boy, talk about a wake up call for my weight, I either looked pregnant, or I had a huge double chin or my lips looked huge! I can't do anything about my lips looking big, but boy oh boy, diets here I come!

I'm sorry that it has been a while since I wrote, it seems like we have been going non-stop. We FINALLY got a new computer! Our other one would just overheat and shut off, it probably just needs a cool pad, but we needed an upgrade. (If anyone wants to buy a 6 year old lap top and carrying case, let me know).

Here is our new computer!

Adriana is doing good in her new bed. The only time we really have a problem with her wanting to get out of bed, is at nap time, so I just take her step stool away and she just stays in bed. She is so proud of her bed and loves it. Zoe also loves her bed. The other night Zoe was just laying on her bed and it thrilled Adriana so much.
