My Growing Little Man

Paxton is getting to be so big. He is pretty much crawling. Life is over as we know it. He's still trying to work out the legs, but if he wants to get somewhere, he gets there, one way or another! I can't believe he is on the verge of going all the time. As I am happy that he is growing like a healthy little boy, I am not looking forward to chasing a crawling baby and saying "no" every 30 seconds as he crawls and gets into stuff he's not suppose to.
He's also on the verge of cutting his first couple of teeth. I think they will be popping up before too long.
My little man is changing so much, I still want my baby around!

Playing with Daddy!

I love this shot. His sweet little smile.

Morbid Humor

Our sweet little innocent daughter has all of a sudden developed a sort of morbid humor. Its a little worrisome, but hope its just a toddler thing. She LOVES to watch the scary parts of Disney movies. Some of the older movies, like Snow White, have some pretty dark parts, and she loves them. She will ask to watch those parts over and over again. Her father is the one that will allow that, not me. She also loves to watch videos like on America's Funniest Home Videos, of animals getting hurt. She loves to torture Zoe herself. Another thing is she all of a sudden wants Ryan to tell her "scary" stories at bedtime. She made up a brother and sister duo named "Pix" (the sister) and "Toots" (the brother). Ryan will tell a story about Pix and Toots that will seems scary but he will make it a happy ending. I'm a little worried about her new found humor, but hope its a phase and not a sign of a serial killer!

7 Months Old

This little man.....

is 7 months old already! Can you believe it? I sure can't. I can't believe how time has flown by! He is getting to be such a big boy. Within the last couple of weeks, he has really gotten the hang of sitting all on his own. He loves this new independence, and I got to say, so do I.

His newest thing is to get on all fours and start rocking back and forth. He does this anytime he's on his tummy and in his bed. It won't be long, before my life is going to get a whole lot busier chasing this little one around!

Paxton has acquired a new playmate...Adriana. She all of a sudden loves to share with him and be around him. She loves to make him laugh and actually asks if Paxton can play with us. This is a huge step and a big relief to me. He loves his big sister and loves to watch her run around and play.

This little man also LOVES to go to the pool. He just sits in his floatie and relaxes. He loves to watch the other kids at play and he enjoys being in the water, which I'm so happy about. We are going to the pool quite a bit this summer, so I'm glad that he loves it. Adriana HATED the pool her first summer, so this is a great thing.

This little boy also LOVES his daddy! He is getting to be such a Daddy's boy. Every time Ryan walks into the room, he get so excited and just starts to kick and smile. If Ryan walks out of the room, he starts to cry. He loves his daddy, that's for sure.
Paxton is such a joy and blessing in our lives. We are still adjusting to having 2 kids sometimes, but I wouldn't trade my little man in for the world!

Mischief

I have been so tired lately. Last night, I didn't sleep hardly at all. Now that Adriana doesn't take naps, its hard for me to find a break during the day. I know this sounds bad, but sometimes, I'll put a video on for her to watch and lay there and try to catch a little cat nap. (Keep in mind, this is all while Paxton is down for a nap too!) Anyway, I did this today, and Adriana normally does REALLY good on her own. I never worry about her getting into anything.....except for today. When she came to tell me her video was almost over, I opened my eyes to this face. I don't know where the child found this red marker, but now, she has it on her face until it fades away. Luckily, she doesn't have school this week!

An Unwelcomed Site

Call me an old grumpy woman, but I am starting to see things pop up around town that I hate. It happens every year. The older I get, the more I hate seeing them. I'll give you a hint. They are normally striped tents, set up in random parking lots around town. Know what it is? Fireworks stands! I'm really starting to hate them. The reason: Any Yahoo can go and purchase loud explosive devises. Don't get me wrong, I love watching the real deal when somewhat professionals set them off, but when you get a bunch of rednecks buying up fireworks, it just wears me out. Maybe its because we live outside the city limits so there really are no rules on when these people can set them off, but come on! Why do people set them off on a random Thursday night? I have kids that wake up so easily, and you don't care at all. I know I just sound like Miss Anti-4th of July, but just hate seeing these tents pop up, because I know there are months ahead of loud popping into the middle of the night. Doesn't really put me in a festive mood.

Tuesday

Tuesday. That was THE day. It was the highlight of our week. It was also the low point of the week too. I had a big day planned. Take Adriana to school, take the kids swimming and then take them to Chick-Fil-A that evening for dinner for "Princess Night". All of these things happened, but what put a damper on it all, was the fact that Tuesday was the day my back started to go out. I'm telling you what, if its not the fire alarms going off in the house, the A/C being broke, its my back going out. Can't wait to find out whats next.
It started with this dull pain in my back earlier in the day. I don't know what caused it, it just started catching when I would bend down. I wasn't too shocked, since I have had plenty of back trouble in the past. I excused the pain away, but when we got to Chick-Fil-A, is when it really started firing up. I about dropped Paxton putting him in his stroller, because of the sharp pain. The difference with this pain than any time before, this was hurting my WHOLE mid-section. I felt like I was being kicked in the gut and in the back. I was so excited for Adriana go to "Princess Night", she LOVES the big cows at Chick-Fil-A, and she loves dressing up like a princess. Let me tell you, every little girl in town was there, it was jammed packed! We ate dinner and then headed outside for the festivities. They did hair, make-up, nails, tea parties, and Miss Missouri USA and Miss Teen USA from Missouri was there signing autographs, it was a HUGE hit and it was FREE! When I saw the line for the hair and make-up I about fell over. We waited in line for 45-60 minutes to get her hair and make-up done. The whole time I was standing there I could have about collapsed, I was hurting!

This is my princess before her hair got done. Its a little crazy looking!

During ...

A back shot of her hair while she was getting her make-up done.

My beautiful girl.

Showing off her purple nails.
The highlight by far for Adriana wasn't the hair and nails, it was seeing the big cows. If she didn't do anything else that night, she would be fine, as long as she saw those cows. We had gotten her picture taken with BOTH cows twice before we did her hair and while waiting in line forever, she turned and said, "After we get my hair done, we go show the cow." This child was in hog heaven. Here are pictures of her with the Knight Cow and the Princess Cow.

I was very thankful that my parents came with me. Ryan was working late that evening, so my parents came with me. They took care of Paxton while we did our girl thing. Adriana was so excited to show Paxton her nails. I think this little man is starting to grow on her.

So that was Tuesday in a nut shell. Wednesday wasn't any better. I woke up in the worse pain of my life. Was in tears walking down the hallway from our bedroom, while bearing most of my weight on Ryan. I was in serious pain. My parents came over, Mom watched the kids and Dad took me to Urgent care. They pretty much just gave me a "band aid" of medicine until I can see my regular doctor. I'm afraid its one of my discs that has either slipped or worse. I have bulging discs and a herniated disc right where this pain is, so I think something has happened to one of them. I go to the doctor in a week and a half and hopefully get some answers. The meds are doing a pretty good job of making the pain subside. I still can't pick up the kids, so I feel pretty helpless. Hopefully the doctor will continue to get me on the right road.
Lets hope next Tuesday is a little more calm....

Scary Clouds Rolling In...

This morning we woke up to a forecast that said we weren't getting any rain today. About an hour later, this is what I saw out my window.....
These pictures don't even do the clouds justice...

they were absolutely beautiful! We have an awesome view of storms rolling in, one of my favorite features of this house....

And while the storm looked worse than it was, it was awesome to see God's beauty in these clouds...

Pool Time

Today was our first trip to the pool for the summer. This was Paxton's first trip to the pool ever. Its been so hot and humid around here lately and today seemed to be dragging out so long, so we headed to the pool.
Now Ozark doesn't have a great outdoor pool, at least for kids, but I figured it was better than nothing. Adriana was so excited that we were going. Surprisingly, she jumped right in, despite the fact that there were other kids in there playing. Most of the time, she is scared to death about playing when there are other kids present.

It was a little chilly at first, so Paxton wasn't a fan, but he LOVED watching all the kids play. He got splashed in the face a few times but despite that, I think he enjoyed his first trip to the pool.

My babies loved being out there and we had fun. When we were leaving we had a small melt down, but we will differently find a way to go there more often to help us stay cool this summer.
