I can't help but smile

Here is a picture of Adriana I took today. I think its so cute and funny. I couldn't help but just laugh, she had no idea what she looked like, but she was happy as could be. I love the look on her face. I don't know, maybe its only funny to her mom, but I just had to share the picture. Hope everyone is doing good. Have a great week!

One Tree Down, Two To Go

As I have mentioned before, we just moved into our new house about 3 weeks ago. My parents came down to help us get settled in. With the move being so close to the holidays, I had planned on not decorating. Between Ryan and my mom, convincing me to get into the holiday spirit, we ended up decorating. Now, don't get me wrong, I love to decorate for Christmas, however it is such a big production to find room to put up the Christmas tree. Well we put up 3 Christmas trees, that's right 3! One on the front porch with presents under the tree, a big one on top of the coffee table in the family room and another little 3 ft. tree that I call Ryan's tree. (Ryan's tree has the Simpsons decorations on it and the Titans ornaments). Anyway, we decorated and everything looks great (thanks to my mom). Last night all was well in the Naylor household until I hear a crash and see Zoe (our cat), who was in the kitchen, jump straight into the air and land on the counters. I didn't know what it was at first and then I hear Ryan call out Adriana's name. I look over and see that Ryan's tree had fallen over and had broken ornaments all over the floor. Ryan ran over and unburied our daughter from out of the toppled over tree. Adriana had pulled the tree over on herself and was completely unfazed by the whole thing. I know Zoe was thinking, "for once it wasn't me who made the mess!". Everyone escaped without injury and all was well in the Naylor household once more. So anyway, we packed up his tree and the remaining ornaments and now only have 2 trees up. We'll see how long they last...

Merry Christmas

Its funny, for some reason it seems with me anyway, that towards the end of the year I really start thinking back over the last year and the events that have taken place and the friends and family that I am blessed to have. I tend to get warm and fuzzy feelings as I make out Christmas cards and maybe get too gushy on some of them. I guess this is the only time of year that I send some people cards in the mail and so I feel like I need to tell them excatly how much they mean to me. This year has brought lots of change in our lives, as you know. We have been truely blessed this year and God has been good to us, as He always is. The biggest change has been Adriana Leigh. She was born Feb.19 and has been a huge blessing. People with children will understand when I say that you can't help but love them more and more everyday. Although there are diffently bad days, it doesn't waver your love for them. I think I fall in love with her more and more everytime she smiles at me, or gives me a "kiss" (just her opening her mouth on my cheek and sticking her tounge out) or gets so excited when I walk into a room. These little things make all the hard times well worth it. Another huge blessing in our lives (which we didn't know at the time) was Ryan taking a new job this year. He was in school to be a fireman, but instead was offered a job with Dr. Vinyl (he repairs interiors of cars). By him having this job I am able to stay at home with Adriana. It is a good job and he really likes it. He is a good provider for our family and would work day and night to make sure his family is taken care of. Another big thing that has happened to us this last year is that we were able to buy a house! Now, granted this meant that we have moved 2 times in one year, but it is well worth it in the end. We are still getting settled and have some painting and other little things to do, but we love it and are so excited to call it ours. If you would have talked to me a year ago, I don't know what I would have told you if you asked me what to expect in the following year, but I could have never imagined all the great things that have taken place in our lives. I never would have thought that I would be staying at home with our child (nor did I even want to, its funny how having a child changes your prespectives on a lot of things). I have lost friendships this year, but I have also gained new friends and have restored some broken friendships from a few years ago. All in all, it has been a WONDERFUL year. I hope that you and your family can say the same. If it's been a hard year, trust me, it will get better. Who knows what 2008 holds, but I hope and pray that we will all have a great year! Merry Christmas!

Welcome to the 21st Century

Well, we FINALLY got the internet. We are like kids in a candy shop having the internet. It has been a luxury we have done without for so long (in fact, we have never had the internet since we have been married). We use to use the internet when we worked in an office setting, but since Ryan's office is his van and I stay home, it has been hard to get access to the internet. Anyway, we feel like we are part of the world again. Its funny how many people and businesses assume that you have the internet. Its like you can't function unless you have it. Anyway, enough about that. I am working (slowly but surely) on updating this blog and getting new pictures up. So be patient with me and hopefully, I will have more updated information and pics up soon. Hope everyone is doing good. The holidays will be here before we know it. I have a lot left to do. Well I better be on my way to bed. My child kept me up last night, she is cutting more teeth! She has 6 coming in at once.
Well Stay tuned, there is more to come...
